The Santa-Elena Campsite in Lloret de Mar is the ideal starting point for visit the Costa Brava. From your campsite you can shine throughout the rich tourist region toward Tossa de Mar, Blanes, Port-Bou, Lloret de Mar.
Its Mediterranean climate and the proximity to the airports of Barcelona and Girona make Lloret de Mar (which means “laurel of the sea” that we see on its coat of arms), with its maritime tradition, a favorite destination for tourists.
Very lively in summer by visitors attracted by its historic center with modernist architecture, it will welcome you day and night in its warm tapas bars, its restaurants with traditional and gourmet cuisine. But the attraction will be especially for its coast, its immense beaches of blond sand, its rocky coves, the calm and transparent waters and its many walking and hiking trails including that of "La camina de ronda" (The patrol path) which goes from the beach of the center to that of Fenals and will take you to the famous statue "La Dona Marinera" The Venus of Lloret, homage to all the wives of sailors who scanned the horizon for their return.
In LLoret de Mar, you will visit the Castell de Sant Joan (11th century) which was a watchtower and defense tower. It overlooks the sea offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the Big Blue and separates the main beach of Lloret de Mar from that of Fenals. You will not fail to see the Church of Sant Roma (1509) so singular because its initial Gothic style has been often altered over the centuries, the museum of the sea and, also, one of the oldest buildings in the city "la masia de can Saragossa ”(14th century), the gardens of Santa Clotilde, the Pinya de Rosa botanical garden without forgetting the museum "La casa de los gatos" which presents 6000 objects from the life of cats, You will have fun with your family in the water park "Water World" and your children at Abreaventura ...etc..
For another perspective on the Costa Brava, you can set sail on beautiful boat trips and excursions to the nearby coastal towns of Tossa de Mar, Bianès, Santa Suzanna, Callela
Tossa de Mar. One of the most beautiful towns in Spain.
"The blue paradise" by Marc Chagall fascinated, like other painters, by the intense blues and the luminosity of the sky and the sea, Tossa was also the favorite of Ava Gardner (see his statue and taste the cupcakes "Besos by Ava Gardner")
Tossa de Mar is a very old village since Antiquity (witness a Roman villa).
You will be charmed by La Vila velle (the old town) whose magnificent medieval castle (12th, 13th century) on its wooded rocky promontory, with its watchtowers (one of which is a lighthouse) and its crenellated ramparts, has always protected the fishing village against pirate invasions. You will wander through its narrow cobbled streets and will perhaps find the "devil's hole", a discreet path against the walls, once used by fishermen to reach their boats on the beach.
With its Mediterranean climate and its average temperature of 30 ° in summer, to refresh yourself in the transparent waters (blue flag), you will find large beaches of fine golden sand or the many small discreet coves.
Paradise for scuba divers with bottle or snorkel, you will learn to dive and explore the clear seabed whose aquatic flora and fauna will amaze you.
After sport, go and taste the delicious typical and gastronomic local dishes. And, why not the famous “Simitomba” variant of the traditional fisherman's dish based on fish and vegetables! The alleys and the seaside are full of restaurants waiting for you, they will make you salivate with gourmet pleasure!
A day in Barcelona is obviously essential… and another in Girona!
Located about 1 hour from your campsite, Barcelona, the Mediterranean, will enchant you: stroll through the historic districts of the city, admire the works of Gaudi : The Sagrada Familia, La Casa Batllo , and the Parc Güell which overlooks the city… Have lunch in the La Boquería market on the Rambla.

In the Jewish Quarter, "Ell Call", you can admire the buildings with exuberant baroque architecture mixed with the Noucentist constructions of Rafael Masó from the cultural and political movement of the beginning of the XNUMXth century which developed in Catalonia in opposition to the previous majority modernism. . And, witness to the past, in a former convent of Capuchin monks you can see "Arab baths."
Gerona is very rich in its history, you will spend hours and hours discovering it. To rest from your wanderings, the magnificent "Parc Devesa" planted with banana trees and exotic trees will bring you freshness and relaxation.
