The region :
Located in the north of Spain, near the town of Huesca, the Ordesa Park y Monte Perdido is one of the 16 Spanish national parks that enjoys the highest level of nature protection. Founded in 1918, it is the second oldest national park in Spain and is located in the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees, close to the French border. The park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.
It is a true natural treasure which is home to an exceptional diversity of flora and fauna, favored by its impressive height difference. The climax is the Mount Lost (Monte Perdido), which rises to 3 meters above sea level! The park's landscapes are shaped by millennia of the Ice Age, which created impressive canyons, gorges and valleys. For all nature lovers, a visit to Ordesa and Monte Perdido is obligatory.
Exploring the park offers an unforgettable experience and hours of hiking trails, each more pretty and picturesque than the last with lookouts, lakes, waterfalls, flora and fauna to discover.

Its relatively isolated position between France and Spain has allowed it to keep its authenticity: traditions, history, legends, architecture are respected;
Not far from Torla, also in the National Park, on the banks of the Ara River, visit Broto, a small mountain village of 500 inhabitants in an impressive site with its medieval bridge, its traditional houses, its monuments such as the 16th century church with its bell tower, a real defensive tower, and also another impressive tower, the prison.
