Hiking and nature discoveries in the Vosges

Outdoor enthusiasts will be delighted by the many hikes and walks to do from the campsite, on foot or by bike, mountain bike or horseback.
From Le Tholy, the Tendon Waterfalls, the highest of the Vosges, are accessible on foot. It is an ideal outing for the family.
The Trou de l'Enfer is a natural curiosity that attracts lovers of hiking and mysterious landscapes. This deep gorge, surrounded by local legends, is accessible via a marked 5,8 km trail. The route often starts from the center of Tholy or at the place called Rechaucourt, and crosses forest landscapes to the gorge. Along the way, hikers can admire impressive rock formations and enjoy a small picturesque bridge that spans the Barba stream. This walk lasts about 2 hours, with several possible stopping points for breaks in the heart of nature.
This site is also steeped in local legends. One story tells of a fiddler (violinist) who once found himself mysteriously transported to the Devil's Castle for a magical ball, before ending up in the middle of the Hell Hole with no explanation. These tales add a wonderful and mysterious dimension to this already unique walk.
